Short Summary –
He graduated Pusan National University in 1994 (Bachelor), and got his Master and Ph.D. degrees from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in 1996 and 2001, respectively, with the supervision by Prof. Hyun Dong Shin. After serving as a post doctor researcher at KAIST for two years, he worked with Prof. Kaoru Maruta as a post doctor at Tohoku University from 2003 to 2005. He served as an assistant or associate professor in Chung-Ang university in Korea from 2005 to 2013. After that, he moved to KAIST in 2014 and is working as an associate professor. He published 44 journal papers, most of which have been published in major journals in the field of combustion. He won the ‘best researcher award’ two times from the Korean Combustion Society. He contributed as the Colloquium Co-Chair three times in the international combustion symposium. His research topics are mostly concerned with the laminar flame structures and flame dynamics. He developed various unique test burners to investigate laminar flame structures, and will talk about laminar flame structures and their transition in various meso-scale test burners.
